Bobby is a West Texas native from Smyer. Before Bobby knew he wanted to be a meteorologist, everyone around him knew. Even as a young kid he’d always watch the weather. He’d watch for hours during severe weather. Friends and family called him the weatherman for years because of his passion and the fact that he wears glasses.
It didn’t dawn on Bobby to pursue his love for meteorology until after he graduated from South Plains College with an Associates of Science degree in 2009. Bobby interned at KCBD, then attended Mississippi State University. Bobby graduated in the summer of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree focused in meteorology. Bobby moved back to Lubbock from Dallas and soon joined the FOX34 team.
In his free time Bobby watches movies and football, listens to music, and does woodworking. He is also a storm spotter and loves watching storms develop. Bobby loves winter weather and goes skiing with friends often in New Mexico. Even in his free time he still watches the weather and studies the latest weather developments.
He married wife Kaylee in 2014. They have a dog named Jax, who has a lot of energy; you can find them taking him on walks at parks around Lubbock.
