Lubbock - Texas Tech Junior Jonathan Giles announced on his twitter account that he will be transferring from the University.
"Red Raider Nation:
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you all today that I have decided to transfer from Texas tech University. Texas Tech was a dream school for me growing up as a kid so to wear the Double T was truly an honor and a privilege. However, after a lot of praying and talking with my family and praying, I have made the decision that it is in my best interest to pursue my dreams and academics elsewhere. I would like to thank Mr. Kirby Hocutt, Coach Kingsbury and the entire Texas Tech Staff for all they Have done during my time here. I want to also thank my great teammates for their constant support. Lastly, to all Red raiders fans, y'all are the best, showing up every game no matter what rain or shine. No matter where I end up , i will always have a piece of Texas Tech in my heart.
Giles played in all 12 games for Texas Tech last season, catching 69 passes for 1158 yards and 13 touchdowns. His total yardage marked the most receiving yards by a Red Raider since Jace Amaro in 2013 and his 13 touchdowns were the most by a Red Raider since Darrin Moore recorded the same total in 2012.
He attended Fort Bend Elkins High School, in Missouri City, Texas. Giles chose Tech over offers from Missouri, Maryland and Houston.
