Texas Tech men's tennis sends three to NCAA singles and doubles

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Texas Tech men's tennis team will be represented by Jolan Cailleau, Connor Curry and Bjorn Thomson in the NCAA Championships later this month announced Wednesday by the NCAA.
 
The NCAA Singles and Doubles competition will be held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the University of Georgia campus from May 24-29. The singles field features 64 players whereas 32 pairs will compete in the doubles tournament.
 
All three players will make their first appearance in the event. Curry and Thomson, the nation's No. 13 doubles team, have posted a 14-6 record and captured a team-leading five ranked victories during the dual match season. Texas Tech has a strong history in doubles as Raony Carvalho and Gonzalo Escobar were the 2012 NCAA Runner-up followed by Felipe Soares and Hugo Dojas as the 2015 NCAA Runner-Up.
 
Cailleau checks in at No. 29 in the singles rankings and has reeled off wins in eight of his last 11 decisions fueled by five triumphs over Top 30 opponents since March 14. He captured a pair of wins over Baylor's Juan Benetiz and Oklahoma State's Julian Cash coupled with a three-set decisions versus USC's Brandon Holt. Texas Tech's best finish in the singles event came from Soares as a quarterfinalist in 2015.
