LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track & field team wrapped up its last home meet of the season this evening with 12 top-three finishes.

The most impressive performances came from Drew McMichael and Reece Timmons in the men’s and women’s pole vault, who both claimed first-place finishes.

McMichael had a clearance of 5.32m/17-5.50, beating his lifetime-best of 5.25m/17-2.75 created at last weekend’s Red Raider Shootout. This puts McMichael fifth in the Big 12 Conference.

Timmons, a senior, had a two-inch lifetime-best improvement clearing 4.11m/13-5.75 for first-place in her last home meet. This height puts her in the No. 7 spot in the Big 12.

A personal-best 200-meter time was achieved by Tiffani Johnson, who clocked a 23.30 (+3.3w) run. This secured her third-place overall, yet first amongst collegiate entries.

The 400-meter hurdles saw a personal-record run from Ardran Carr, who paced a 53.28 run for fourth.

Joel Latson hit a 100-meter mark of 10.45 (+4.6w) that secured him a fourth-place overall finish.

Next week the Red Raiders will be competing in Lawrence, Kansas at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship on May 11-12.
