LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 7 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team will host Quinnipiac, Southern California and Denver for the NCAA Championship First and Second Rounds this weekend at the McLeod Tennis Center.
The Lady Raiders (24-4) will meet Quinnipiac in the first round on Friday at 1 p.m. while USC and Denver play the first match at 10 a.m. The two winners will battle Saturday at 1 p.m. with the advancing team securing their spot in the NCAA Round of 16 in Athens, Ga., on Thursday, May 18.
Texas Tech won four of the last five matches, capturing the Big 12 Championship title last weekend in Norman. Quinnipiac (14-8) claimed the MAAC Championship title to take the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. This is the 10th NCAA berth for the Bobcats,
Texas Tech has played host to the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds during four of the last five seasons.
