SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The USATF Championships concluded today with the high jump competition from Trey Culver and Texas Tech graduates JaCorian Duffield and Bradley Adkins.
All three Red Raiders claimed top-10 finishes. Duffield led the pack with a sixth-place finish with a final height of 2.21m/7-3.Culver and Adkins followed with No. 8 and No. 10 finishes at a best-bar of 2.16m/7-1.
The Red Raiders leave Sacramento with a total of eight top-10 finishes, two from Texas Tech graduates and one from incoming freshman Sean Hooper-Mercer.
Justin Hall will be representing Texas Tech as he joins Team USA to compete in the long jump at the U20 Pan American Junior Championships in Peru on July 22-23. Hall qualified with his 7.56m/24-9.75 first leap to take second-place.
Incoming Red Raider Hooper-Mercer will be joining Hall in Peru to compete in the men's 400m after taking a third-place overall finish, clocking a 45.86 run.
Viershanie Latham and Kyle Collins both had their outdoor finale's with No. 4 and No. 8 finishes in the women's triple jump and men's 400m dash. Latham's finish was achieved by her 13.44m/44-1.25 jump. In one of Collins' three rounds of competition, he managed to achieve a sub-45 second lifetime-best performance run of 44.95.
