OTTAWA, Canada – Kaylee Hinton wrapped up her competition for Team USA in Ottawa, Canada, this afternoon with a sixth-place overall finish.
After ending yesterday with a total of 3,345 points Hinton continued competition ending with a grand total of 5,545 points, her third-highest score this year.
She started off in the long jump where she placed fifth in the competition at a distance of 5.81m/19-0.75. Hinton then picked up the javelin where she threw her second-farthest launch this year for a 37.15m/121-10 mark. She wrapped up the day in the 800m race where she paced a 2:22.10 run for the final 795 points.
Hinton was one of seventeen competitors in the senior heptathlon division and one of five competing for the United States.
The next Red Raider competitors representing Team USA are freshman Justin Halland incoming freshman Sean Hooper. The two will travel to Lima, Peru, for the U20 Pan American Junior Championships on July 21-23.
