How It Happened

Set One:

Channing Stewart helped the Lady Chaps tie the set at 15-15 with a kill, but they were unable to take a lead, as the Mavericks scored the next three points off LCU miscues to lead 18-15. LCU’s Lauren Zoller followed a pair of CMU attack errors with a kill to cut the deficit to 23-22, but CMU called a timeout and responded obtaining the final two points to win the set 25-22. Gianinetti tallied five kills in the set for CMU, and she was aided in the set win by a 10-dig performance from Woods in the set. Jaden Kennedy led LCU with a trio of kills in the set.

Set Two:

CMU leaped out to an 8-0 lead to open the second set, with three of the points coming off of kills from Mackenzie Edwards. LCU responded with a 5-1 run to cut the deficit to 9-5.
