LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will have a morning kickoff for the third time in a four-week span Oct. 14 when the Red Raiders travel to West Virginia for an 11 a.m. CT start on ESPNU.
The Red Raiders are already accustomed to morning kickoffs this season after a 27-24 victory just two weeks ago at Houston. Tech will face a similar early rise this weekend when the Red Raiders head to Kansas for an 11 a.m. kickoff.
Since the Mountaineers joined the Big 12 prior to the 2013 season, each of Tech’s two previous trips to Morgantown have featured 11 a.m. starts as the Red Raiders topped West Virginia, 32-27, in 2013 before falling 31-26 two years later.
The Red Raiders are 2-4 all-time against West Virginia as the Mountaineers have won each of the last three meetings. West Virginia is 3-1 this season and 1-0 in conference play heading into this weekend’s tilt at TCU.
The Kansas game begins a two-week stretch on the road for the Red Raiders, their longest of the season. Television coverage Saturday will be provided nationally on FOX Sports 1. The Texas Tech Sports Network will also carry the game on its 46 affiliates in Texas and New Mexico as well as on Sirius and XM radio and the TuneIn app.
Tech returns to Jones AT&T Stadium on Oct. 21 for its homecoming game against Iowa State. Tickets for that game as well as the two others on Tech’s home slate are still available by contacting the Tech Ticket Office at 806-742-TECH.
Fans interested in bundling tickets for each of the three remaining home games can do so by purchasing the Raider Power Pack, which is priced at just $120 per person.
