LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 24 Texas Tech will continue its trend of 11 a.m. kickoffs on Oct. 21 when the Red Raiders host Iowa State at Jones AT&T Stadium. Television coverage will be provided nationally on FOX Sports 1.
This will be the fourth morning kickoff for the Red Raiders over a five-week span as Tech also had early starts at Houston and Kansas and then faces another one this weekend at West Virginia. Dating back to the start of the 2004 campaign, Tech has had four 11 a.m. kickoffs in a season only once previously, which came in 2013.
The Red Raiders (4-1; 1-1) head into their matchup with Iowa State (3-2; 1-1) having won four of the last five meetings against the Cyclones, who will host Kansas this weekend in Ames. Tech is 11-4 all-time versus the Cyclones with an 8-1 mark in games played at home.
Texas Tech alumni from around the world will reconnect in Lubbock for the Iowa State game, which will be part of the university’s annual week-long Homecoming festivities. Tech is 54-30-3 all-time in Homecoming games, which includes a 66-31 win over Iowa State in 2015.
Tickets are still available for the Iowa State game as well as Tech’s two other home contests against Kansas State (Nov. 4) and TCU (Nov. 18). Fans can purchase a ticket for all three games through the “Raider Power Pack,” which is priced at $120 per person.
