LUBBOCK, Texas -

TODAY: The fog then low clouds kept the temperature down in the 50s in Lubbock. Not too far away it was sunny this afternoon and the temperature climbed into the 60s.

TONIGHT: Fog and low clouds will likely return, low near 47. S/SE wind 5-15mph.

SATURDAY: Clouds should hang around in the morning, with gradual clearing through the afternoon. It'll start to clear west first. Clouds may hang around all day east, off of the Caprock. Because of this it'll be warmer west, cooler east. High in Lubbock near 73. Breezy in the afternoon, SW 10-20mph.

NEXT FRONT: A cold front will move across the South Plains late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. This will kick up the north wind to around 20mph. The wind will diminish some by the afternoon. High near 58 with a partly cloudy sky. If the clouds are more persistent then we might not get to 50.

NEXT WEEK: Another front is due in our area by Wednesday, with slightly cooler air behind it. We don't see a good sign of rain or snow any time soon. A storm system passing over the Central Plains will probably kick the wind up Thursday.

7-day forecast?

TEXAS TECH: Quiet weather across North Texas. Outside of Cowboys Stadium it'll be in the mid 50s heading to the game, mid 60s after the game. There's a slight chance for light rain Saturday night into Sunday.
