LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech baseball program put together another strong academic semester, as the Red Raiders compiled a 3.14 team grade-point average over the fall term.
It is the highest team GPA in head coach Tim Tadlock and his staff’s tenure at Texas Tech.
“We’re proud of the way our guys worked in the classroom and what they accomplished this fall,” Tadlock said. “We really appreciate the Marsha Sharp Center staff for their hard work, dedication and the resources they provide our student-athletes to succeed academically.”
The semester was highlighted by 26 student-athletes being named to the academic honor roll (3.0+ GPA), with 10 earning Dean’s List honors (3.5+ GPA) and two on the President’s List (4.0 GPA). Freshmen Clayton Beeter (mechanical engineering) and Braxton Fulford (undeclared) were named to the President’s List.
The Dean’s List was filled by senior Dylan Dusek (accounting), juniors Ty Harpenau (accounting), Davis Martin (management), Cameron Warren (human sciences), & Zayne Willems (accounting), sophomores Josh Jung (communication studies) & Caleb Kilian (construction management) and freshmen Richard Gilbert (undeclared), Brock Martin (personal financial planning) & Cody Masters (management).
Tech’s other academic honor roll selections include: seniors Michael Davis (university studies) & Jose Quezada (kinesiology), juniors Cody Farhat (management), Steven Gingery (sport management), & Ryan Shetter (sport management), sophomores Andrew Davis (marketing), Dane Haveman (undeclared), Brian Klein (sport management), Clay Koelzer (kinesiology), Jake McDonald (kinesiology) & John McMillon (undeclared) and freshmen Gabe Holt (undeclared), Parker Kelly (undeclared) & Ryan Sublette (undeclared).
Texas Tech begins the 2018 campaign with a four-game set at home against Maine on Feb. 16 at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
