OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Lady Raiders' season came to an end on Friday night as Tech fell to Iowa State, 74-49, in the opening round of the Big 12 tournament.
Texas Tech finishes the season at 7-23. Iowa State improved to 14-16 and moved on to the quarterfinals where they will face No. 2 seed Texas.
After a slow start, the Lady Raiders pulled within seven with a 10-3 run to open the second quarter. Redshirt junior Haley Bruedigam led the team with eight points in the period.
Iowa State extended their lead with a 23-point third quarter and kept the Lady Raiders at bay.
Three Lady Raiders scored double-digit points against the Cyclones. Sophomore Brittany Brewer and Lyndsey Whilby posted 11 points each while Bruedigam followed with her first 10-point game of the season. Senior Jada Terry led the team with 12 rebounds on the night.
Three Cyclones scored in double figures led by Bridget Carleton who had 24 points, half coming off the free throw line.
