LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 5 Texas Tech men’s golf team will participate in its final regular-season tournament of the year this weekend, the El Macero Classic, held at the El Macero Country Club, in El Macero, Calif.
The Red Raiders won at El Macero the last time they participated, a win (+12) that featured three individual top-5 finishes on April 17, 2016.
Two Red Raiders, Hurly Long and Ivan Ramirez, were part of that tournament title in 2016 and will return this weekend.
Tech, owner of six second-place team finishes this season, is coming off a 10th-place finish at the Aggie Invitational, where wintry conditions played heavily into the scoring across the board. The Red Raiders sport 10 top-10 finishes, three individual wins and four players with par-or-better scoring averages this season.
Tech will tee off at 10:55 am CT off the first tee, led by Kyle Hogan. He will be followed by Adam Blomme, Ramirez, Sandy Scott and Long. Golfstat will provide live scoring all weekend.
El Macero Country Club is a 7,138-yard, par-72 course, where the Red Raiders will be joined by UC Davis, Air Force, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Omaha, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State, TCU, and No. 24 UCLA.
