LUBBOCK, Texas – LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf alumnae Hannah Arnold will play in this weekend's Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic after qualifying for the event through an 18-hole tournament Monday just north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Arnold topped a 72-player field at the Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna to earn one of the two qualifying spots into the LPGA Texas Classic, which begins Thursday morning at the Old American Golf Club in The Colony.
Arnold, a native of Lufkin, Texas, will be in the 12:22 p.m. tee group Thursday afternoon as she is paired with Martina Edberg and Kassidy Teare. She will remain in the same threesome Friday at a tee time to be determined.
This is the first LPGA event of the season for Arnold, who has played on the Symetra Tour since wrapping her career as a Red Raider following the 2013-14 season. She helped push Tech to three NCAA Regional appearances during her playing career.
The Golf Channel will air all four days of the tournament, beginning its live coverage at 9:30 a.m. CT on Thursday and Friday and then 4:30 p.m. CT for the final two rounds. Live scoring will also be available at LPGA.com.
