Red Raider tennis begins fall schedule in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Texas Tech men's tennis team is set to kick off their fall slate at the 2018 Chowder Fest in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Friday, Sept. 14.

The event, hosted by Harvard University, is a three day tournament that runs Friday through Sunday, featuring opponents from Old Dominion, Indiana and Harvard. Tech will face Harvard on Friday at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday's matches are TBD.

"This is a great event at such a historical school." Head coach Brett Masi said. "The guys get a lot of matches in during this tournament and that's really what we're looking for at this point in the season. They're ready to get their feet wet and compete again. Being in Boston is such a treat and our guys are going to get a wonderful experience out of it."

Newcomer Parker Wynn will make his debut for the Red Raiders, following his transfer to Tech earlier this summer. The rest of the team, led by seniors Artem Kapshuk and Tommy Mylnikov, will have an early start to their weekend, as matches begin at 10 a.m. on Friday morning.

The Red Raiders will head to the left coast next weekend, when they participate in the Battle of the Bay tournament in San Francisco, California.
