LUBBOCK, Texas -

update 5:07 p.m. - Texas Tech QB Alan Bowman is still in the hospital. But, Coach Kingsbury said Sunday evening this injury is not as severe as the initial partially collapsed lung suffered during the West Virginia game Sept. 29.

posted Sunday morning - Texas Tech QB Alan Bowman was taken to the hospital Saturday night for evaluation of what the athletic department identified as "reoccurrence of his previous injury (partially collapsed lung) that occurred in the West Virginia game."

Bowman took a hard hit late in the first half Saturday night against the Sooners, on a quarterback keeper close to the goal line. He returned out of the locker room during half time, but was seen abruptly stopping his warm-up routine, taking his helmet off. He then walked back to the locker room.

A statement early Sunday showed he'd stay at the hospital through morning for observation.

After leaving the West Virginia game Sept. 29 Bowman spent a few days in the hospital. He did not play in the TCU game roughly a week and a half later. He did return to play in Texas Tech's home win over Kansas Oct. 20.

Texas Tech led the Sooners at the half 31-28. Without Bowman, the team was not able to maintain the same level of offense, but was able to scrap to the end. Oklahoma notched the win 51-46.
