Lady Raider tennis ranked No. 18 in opening ITA Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Texas Tech Women's Tennis team was selected No. 18 in the Oracle/ITA Division I rankings to open the 2019 Spring season.
 
This ranking marks the 64th-straight poll the Lady Raiders have been ranked inside the ITA Top 25 dating back to Feb. 17, 2015.
 
The Lady Raiders are one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the Top 20. Texas leads the league at No. 6 followed by Oklahoma State at No. 9. Kansas sits at No. 16 in the rankings followed by Tech at No. 18.
 
Senior Felicity Maltby finished the 2018 Fall season at No. 52 in the country. Doubles pair Maltby and newcomer Nell Miller will begin the spring campaign at No. 38 in the rankings. Maltby and Miller started at No. 53 in the preseason ranking.
 
The first singles and doubles rankings of the spring season will come out on Feb. 6.
 
The Lady Raiders begin the 2019 spring season at the Orlando Invitational on Jan. 11-13. Texas Tech will open the season at home on Jan. 26 as it hosts Wyoming for a noon match at the McLeod Tennis Center.
