Texas Tech women’s tennis players make leaps in latest rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 20 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team has two doubles teams and a singles player in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings announced on Wednesday.
 
Senior Felicity Maltby is the lone singles player in the rankings as she jumped 22 spots to No. 30 in the country.
 
Maltby has posted a 5-2 record this season and is 3-1 at the no. 1 position. She has won three matches against ranked opponents including two over NC State's Anna Rogers who was ranked No. 23.
 
In doubles action, freshman Kennedy Bridgforth and senior Lana Rush have played really well together. The two vaulted into the No. 32 spot with a 4-3 record and three wins over ranked opponents.
 
Maltby and freshman Nell Miller jumped 12 spots to No. 32 in the rankings after posting a 4-2 record. The duo have a 3-1 record when playing at the no. 1 position in dual matches this season. The pair finished the 2018 fall season at No. 52 in the country.
 
The next Oracle/ITA team rankings will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
 
UP NEXT
Lady Raiders travel to Miami, Fla., this weekend to face No. 17 Miami on Saturday at noon before taking on FIU on Sunday at 10 a.m. Texas Tech returns to the McLeod Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 15, to host Tulane and New Mexico.
