Got a question for the Double T 97-3 staff, get it to us HERE.
This week the Double T 97-3 staff answers "What are your expectations for the upcoming Red Raider Baseball season?"
Chuck Heinz - The Morning Drive
I expect them to compete and win a Big 12 title. Make a run at the regionals and with luck, effort and talent end up in. Omaha. I expect the games to be fun and competitive. Isn't it fun to have such high expectations of a team? The results on the field in the past have led to these lofty expectations. Let the games begin.
Jamie Lent - The Morning Drive and The Press Box
I expect the Red Raiders to be doing the same kind of things this year that they have been doing the past few years. With that, I mean they will be in the mix for a Big 12 championship, be a team that has a great chance to host a Regional and Super Regional and be a major contender to get to Omaha. Can this be the team to get over the hump and come away with a title? I definitely think the have the offense to get that done. The big question is will they have enough pitching and how long it will take for the young guys to get up to speed. The talent is definitely there. Should be another real fun season for the Red Raiders.
Zach Logsdon - The Morning Drive and The Press Box
It's crazy but I believe the baseline expectation is a Big 12 championship and hosting a Super Regional. I stop short of saying another trip to Omaha because apparently some people believe we have the power to jinx a team. Just know I fully expect our boy Hax to yell out "THE SCARLET AND BLACK ARE BACK-TO-BACK".
Rob Verby - The Bottom Line and Fox34 Sports
I expect them to contend for a Big 12 Title. Top 5-8 in Nation and a National seed.
Chois Woodman - The Bottom Line
My expectations for Red Raider baseball stay about the same from season-to-season under Tim Tadlock: Host a regional and compete for a chance to get to Omaha. That's the baseline expectation every year. However, the hopes are even higher this year. Being nearly a consensus top 5 team, my expectation (barring big injuries) is for this team to get back to Omaha.
Jeff McGuire - The Bottom Line and Sunday Sports Blitz
For baseball expectations, I go with what the team can in fact control. Big 12 champs is the start. I know there are bigger prizes to go for with the team but it starts there. Then being a national seed for a regional host. Meaning that if they take care of business at home they also host the supers. This team has a shot to make a lot of national noise. Getting to Omaha is hard. It gets harder every year. There is always a team that treats you like their Yankees. For the most part under Tadlock, they have prevailed in those games. One pitch at a time has worked so far, no reason to look past Friday's season opener.
Zach Sparman - Tech Talk
I’m trying to keep my expectations in check but they are very high. My main concern is the lack experience in the pitching staff but if they get that figured out I think this can be techs best team under Tadlock. I know how difficult it is to reach the CWS so I don’t want to say I expect a trip to Omaha but I along with many other fans will be disappointed if they don’t.
Luke Lyles - Producer Extraordinaire
Hopefully we will stay ranked throughout the whole season and be a top 2 team in the Big 12. The way we mix it up with our pitching should save our young pitchers arms and keep our opponents on edge. I would like to see another trip to Omaha.
