Red Raider women's golf defeats UC Irvine in round four of Lamkin Invitational
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Texas Tech women's golf team defeated UC Irvine 3-1-1 in the final round of play at the Lamkin Invitational in San Diego, California.
Tech was led by sophomore Sofia Garcia on Wednesday, as she recorded four birdies and seven pars en route to an impressive 8&6 win over her competitor.
Senior Mami Yamamoto also picked up a point for the Red Raiders, as she pulled through in a back-and-forth affair and won her match by a count of 2&1.
Tech's final point was provided by Anna Dong, who notched her second match play victory of the week with a 4&3 decision. After battling with her opponent throughout the morning session, Louisa Brunt, who notched three birdies during the fourth round, concluded her match all square.
The Red Raiders will have a quick turnaround, as they head to Dallas, Texas to participate in the 2019 Bruzzy Challenge, hosted by the University of North Texas.
