Tech volleyball begins spring slate with Texas Tech spring tournament

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team is set to kick off its spring schedule with the third annual Texas Tech Spring Tournament on Saturday, March 30, at United Supermarkets Arena.
Nine teams – highlighted by West Texas A&M, Angelo State, UTPB and Seward – will participate in Saturday's tournament. Three separate courts will be used for the event and each match will be two sets to 25. A third set will be played if there is a split between teams.
Tech will begin its first event of the spring with a 9 a.m. contest against UTPB before taking on Seward at 11 a.m. The Red Raiders will return later in the afternoon to face Angelo State at 12:30 p.m. and Tech will wrap up the tournament against West Texas A&M at 2:30 p.m.
"We are all looking forward to getting back on the court and playing this Saturday," head coach Tony Graystone said. "The team has had a great spring and made steady improvement, but now we are ready to compete and see exactly where we stand."
Admission is free and there will be limited concessions available for fans in the arena. Additionally, parking is free in lots surrounding United Supermarkets Arena. The Red Raiders will throw out t-shirts after each match and the team will sit down for an autograph session between its final two matches at 1:30-2 p.m.
