The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps are national champions for the second time.

The team won the NCAA D-II title game 95-85 over Southwestern Oklahoma State in double overtime Friday. It's the first women's D-II championship game to go to double OT.

LCU won its first national championship in 2016.

You can welcome the team home around 5 p.m. Saturday at the Rip Griffin Center. Police will escort the team from the airport.

There will be a celebration for the team 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rip Griffin Center. Team posters and championship shirts will be available for purchase at the event Tuesday. The team will sign autographs afterward.
