The Frenship Tigers won their Bi-District Championship game of the UIL Class 6A D2 Playoffs after beating the District 1 Runner-Up El Paso Eastlake 35-17 at Peoples Bank Stadium.
The first half wasn't exactly the traditional high-scoring start Frenship is accustomed to, but it saw a lot of action. Both teams scored on every drive of the first half respectively. Eastlake had the ball last in the half, and the Falcons converted two fourth downs, including a 4th and Goal to score as time expired in the half. The last-second score put Frenship at a 21-17 lead at the half.
The Tigers stifled the Falcons in the 3rd quarter, stopping Eastlake on 4th down on both of the Falcons' drives of the quarter. The Tigers scored once in the 3rd quarter, and on the 2nd play of the 4th quarter, Frenship scored to put the game at a comfortable 35-17 lead. Frenship proceeded to shut out Eastlake in the 4th quarter.
Frenship will play the District 4 Champion, the Southlake Carroll Dragons (11-0), in the Area round next week on Double T 97.3 FM.
