11-16 Shannon Tan

Texas Tech women's golf coach JoJo Robertson announced Tuesday her first signee in the 2022 class as Shannon Tan has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Red Raiders for the 2022-23 season.

"We are so excited to have Shannon joining our team," Robertson said. "She has competed at a high level for a long time and will bring a ton of experience to our program. Shannon is a good student and a hard worker, so we can't wait to get her on campus."

Tan, one of the top international players in the 2022 class, has competed in several of the top amateur events around the world, including the 2019 Queensland Amateur (9th place), the 2019 South Pacific Ladies Open (6th place), the 2019 Southeast Asia Games (13th) and the Singapore Junior Masters. She is a two-time winner of the Singapore Junior Masters.

Tan, a native of Singapore, recorded five tournament wins in 2021 alone, pushing her to No. 98 recently in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. She competed in September at the KLPGA Hana Financial Group Championship, a professional event in Korea that had $1.3 million for a prize pot.

Robertson and assistant coach Laurie Brewer will potentially add another member to their 2022 class in the coming days as part of the signing period that runs through next August.
