LUBBOCK, Texas – After the best season of her collegiate career, senior Felicity Maltby took home three ITA Texas Region awards, the organization announced on Saturday.

Maltby was named the ITA Texas Region Senior of the Year and the Most Improved Senior. She is just the second player in school history to win both awards. She followed in the footsteps of Gabriela Talaba and Sabrina Federici who won the awards last season.

"I couldn't be more proud of what Felicity has accomplished this season," Head Coach Todd Petty said. "She has put in the work and deserves all the credit in the world. Felicity possesses all the qualities that it takes to be successful at this level."

Maltby posted a 19-7 record this season with 17 wins coming in dual match play at the no. 1 position and boasting an 8-1 record in Big 12 action. Maltby earned the highest ranked win of her career when she upset No. 17 Bianca Turati (Texas) to score the only point of the match against the Longhorns.

During Big 12 play, Maltby defeated three straight Top 25 opponents to close out the season and was named Big 12 Player of the Week for her outstanding performance.

Following the season, Maltby was named the Big 12 Player of the Year, becoming just the second Lady Raider in school history to with the coveted award.

Maltby was a unanimous selection for All-Big 12 first team honors. She has been named to an All-Big 12 team in three of her four seasons, the last coming in 2017.

Maltby travels to the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., for the NCAA Division I Singles Championship. The Round of 64 begins on Monday, May 20.
