LUBBOCK, Texas (September 20, 2019) – The Lubbock Christian University team placed three runners inside the top 10 individually and won the team title Saturday at the Texas Tech Open.

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
Chaps finish in first place as a team for the first time since September 2, 2017 when they were the winners of the Bill Libby Invitational hosted by McMurry University
Keyna Abdi was LCU's top individual finisher in second place with a time of 26:10.40. It is the second straight meet that he has finished in second place individually
Lubbock Christian's team total of 57 points beat second place Texas Tech, who scored 74. The next closest Division II team was Tarleton State in third with 101 points.
Two other LCU runners finished in the top 10 for the second straight meet, with Brian Kipchumba in third (26:23.60) and Patrick Chemoimet in seventh (26:48.20)
Sophomore Noah Villareal finished in 20th at the meet, posting a collegiate-best 8K time of 27:37.3
LCU's last runner to score points was Ian Kimutai, who finished in 36th place with a time of 28:41.30
