Texas Tech falls to Iowa State 34-24
The Red Raiders couldn't defend their home turf to remain undefeated at the Jones. The Cyclones came in from Ames and put up a 34-24 win over the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech has lost four straight to Iowa State. The Cyclones got out to an early 7-0 start in the first quarter. Then added two more scores in the second. Tech only found the endzone once in the first half. TTU went into halftime down 20-7.
The Red Raiders outscored ISU in the second half 17-14. Damarcus Fields picked off Purdy, but Tech couldn't convert any points on offense after Trey Wolff missed a 42 yard field goal.
Cyclones quarterback, Brock Purdy, led the charge. He was 23/32 for 378 yards and three touchdowns. Breece Hall had 19 carries for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Purdy distributed the ball evenly to his receivers. Five with three or more catches on the day, all of them with more than 40 yards.
Jett Duffey played a clean game overall. The junior didn't throw an interception. He was 40/52 for 239 yards and a touchdown. Added 24 yards on the ground. Texas Tech RB, SaRodorick Thompson, the hot hand yet again. Ten carries for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
R.J. Turner and Erik Ezukanma led the Tech receivers with more than 60 yards each.
The Red Raiders now 3-4 overall and 1-3 in Big 12. They're on the road to take on Kansas, October 26th at 6 P.M.
